Since 2016, OPSTAR has been providing land/ground based SAR services, aviation monitoring and management, airfield emergency health support and aviation support services.
Nowadays, OPSTAR provides SAR services to a range of clients around Australia. We take a systems approach to design and deliver best in class services in our areas of expertise. Our specialist operational staff including paramedics, firefighters, SAR technicians and Aviation Operations Officers; along with their equipment, consumables and proven procedures, provide a turnkey capability in SAR, aeromedical evacuation (AME) and maritime support (including medical support).
OPSTAR has designed, tested and implemented a command, control and decision support system known as OPSTAR PRIME. It is a critical element of search planning and rapid execution through real time dissemination of information to helicopter crews and command elements regardless of whether responding to an overwater or overland scenario.
OPSTAR PRIME fully integrates with the OPSTAR designed Rapid Intervention Ground SAR vehicles with a range of SAR specific technology enabling all weather, day and night search capability.
